    Unhappy Tabs = problems

I tried to raise my CYA ( is just around 30 ) up some by using my 3in tabs I have ( http://www.intheswim.com/Pool-Chemic...orine-Tablets/ ) I have almost 40 lbs left from buying 50 lbs last spring .

I thought I would share my experance with you all and see maybe why I had problems .

I have had NO problems this summer at all useing Axis Ultra beach , conditioner from the pool store and 20 Mule Team boarax to raise PH .

So this last Sunday I figured that I could raise my CYA a bit and save myself some bucks on beach at the same time so I put 3 of my pucks in my floater and set them under the pool blanket on the edge so that I would get good water flow around it . The FC was 3.5 that day ( Sunday )

On Monday FC was 4.5 . So far so good .

Tuesday FC was 6.5 , so I took out the floater to let the to let the FC come down a bit .

    Wed FC was 5.5 .

Thursday FC was 5.0 and finally had time to use the pool because was busy at work etc . I get in and start to vac and there's a dollar sized spot on the floor of the pool that's green algae . No place else was green , on the rope for the temp gauge or the stairs etc . The floater for the tabs was still out of the pool . I usually check FC every other day and when it gets to 3.5 or 4 add a 3/4 gal of beach and I am good to go for another 2 to 4 days depending on weather .

Sooo after seeing the green spot , I am mad all over again like last spring , early summer . I throw the tabs as far as I could , and added a jug of beach .

Friday cleaned pool again , checking for algae and none found and the FC is 7.0 , CC was 0 and all seems well again .

So my question > Just wtf is happening when I use these tabs I got from the above link ????? Last year was the very same problem but then I "figured" it was because of too much CYA in the water . That's not the problem now at all as my tabls had only desolved about 1/3 way when I took them out .

I was planing on selling them or just useing them when my CYA was a bit low but now I don't want to sell them to some other poor sod and have problems or use them as I NEVER want to have the problems again that I had last year

Any ideas ? I mean my FC lvl went up and the algae started growing , just something don't add up .

Anyway I won't ever be using them again .

    Edit: FC today ( Sat ) 4.5
    CC 0
    TC 4.5
    Ph 7.3
    CYA 35
    Alk 225

After looking at the CYA today , I am "guessing" that my tub of tabs has alot more conditioner than it's suppose to . Donno what else to think atm .
