60 vs. 40

Forgive preese, if this question has already been raised. "Algaecide 60" seems to be trade name for what the Forum refers to as POLYQUAT, the Forum's preferred treatment. I bought some stuff at Sam's Club called "Algaecide 40" that I presumed would be simply a lesser concentration of same honorable formulation, however not so. Different chemistry altogether, clear, yellowish, easily poured, and with a nice evil smell to it... also, liquid volume of dosage would appear to be less than my experience with Polyquat.

Request any available informed opinion on this herbicidal imposter.

Don't use and return. It's akyl (Active Ingredient
Alkyl (60%C14, 30%C16, 5%C12, 5%C18)
dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride.......................................... ....30%
Alkyl (68%C12, 32%C14) dimethyl ethylbenzyl ammonium chloride ... 30%
inert ingredients .................................................. ....................40%)


something something. It foams and they do not recommend use of this stuff on this forum. They algaecide use needs is polyquat

I use Super Algae Kill 40%

However... this is a Polyquat.

My label says:
Poly (oxyethlylene dimethyliminio)
ethylene (dimethylimino-etheylene dicholoride)

I believe this is identical to the Polyquat Ben and others speak of... except the product I buy is only 40% not 60%. They don't sell 60% in my neck of the woods... so I'm stuck with this.
