Poconos: It's called a 3 port diverter valve which was plumbed when the pool was installed about 3 years ago. The crack is on the side of the valve...it may have been a design flaw. The valve runs about $60.
Gverntz3: Thanks for the link!!! Looks like great stuff if it can live up to the claims made on the site. How long ago did you make your repair?
Several of you suggested changing the valve. This is without a doubt the best solution. My hesitation is that the intake hoses only have about a foot from where they come out of the ground to where they join the valve making it difficult but not impossible to work with. If I try Gverntz suggestion I'll post the results of this product.

Have not used the product, but it sure looks like it's a great product to use for PVC. Just waiting for something to break to try it!!!
