    Default Trust your equipment...

Lately I've been having a high PH condition. I figured it might be due to having to push my SWCG to 72% output. I kind of had a suspicion about the latest case of Muriatic acid I purchased, as I didn't notice the breath-taking vapor...I figured I was just lucky, and staying down-wind.

Friday I decided to get to the bottom of this (after 2 weeks of adding 3 cups of acid nearly everyday). I measured PH, sure enough 8.0. Taylor book says hit it with 1.75 pints, so I did.

3 hours go by, I test again. 8.0. Hmmmm. This time I go to the garage and get the new box of Muriatic. As soon as I popped the cap I knew this stuff was good.

Moral of the story, trust your test kit----and your instincts; and don't always assume that because something is new, that its good. Something was telling me that the first case of Muriatic wasn't "right."
