    Default Pool Store Test Results

These are the results I just got back from the Pool Store.

    FC 2.4
    TC 3.2
    CC 0.8
    TA 131
    pH 7.6
    CYA 47

This is after adding 4# of CYA and letting the pump run for about 4 days to let it all dissolve.
I have a 11,000 AG vinyl liner pool.
Any suggestions as to how the numbers look and what I should do?
    THANKS!
    Lloyd

Your numbers don't look bad, except that I would shock it to get rid of that CC. Also, I'm not so sure that your CYA has finished dissolving in the water--it wouldn't suprise me to see it increase a bit more. How does the water look?

Right now the water looks great!. How long do you think before all of the CYA is dissolved?

Do I need to leave the pump running the whole time or just make sure I don't backwash it?

Just don't backwash. You don't need to run the pump.

But you do need to get your FC up to shock levels to get rid of that CC. I believe 15 is the FC you need. Then you should be just fine.

    Here is a new test.

    FC 1.9
    TC 2.0
    CC 0.1
    TA 118
    pH 7.8
    CYA 45

    My question is:
When do you need to shock a pool?
When ever there is a trace of CC?
    THANKS!
