    Default Replacing Circuit Board

My SWCG has a feature that keeps the cell clean by reversing polarity at set intervals. I noticed it has not been doing that and instead just running on the negative setting. I contacted Ecomatic and they said it needs a new circuit board ( should be warranty item but I am finding my BP did not submit paper work as I was told they would). There are no distributors in my area and I really don't want my PB sending out a plumber to do the job so I am researching what is involved in doing it myself.

Here is a link to a page that will get you to the parts catalog. The board and unit are shown on page 2. I'm working with their tech services area to try to get instructions but am looking for any advice on what i can expect when doing this ... I'm not an electrical idiot but then I have never done anything like this before.

Any advice for you guys that do this kind of stuff ? How easy is it to split the case and replace the board ?

The ESR circuit board on page 2?

From here it looks like a plug-in replacement, open the unit, remove the old board, stick in the new board, close it up, apply power.

    That's your first option.

The second option is getting the board repaired, probably something simple like a diode or power transistor. If you could obtain a schematic from these guys I'd be happy to look it over with you.

Thanks, I'm going with a new board since it's being covered. I was just hoping to determine if any special tools were required but it's looking like I can do it ... I have been certified on which end of a screw driver to hold
