    Default Vinyl Liner Repair Options

What options are available/recommended for repairing a small tear in the vinyl liner of an aboveground pool?

I have a tear approx 2" long in the shape of a semicircle. The shape resembles the shape of the end of our vacuum pole w/o the vacuum attached...our 4yr old decided to help "clean" the pool and managed to make the hole before I could stop him. It just happened yesterday and the water level in the pool dropped about 3" overnight.

What is the best repair method? Is there any way to make a repair underwater? How about making a "temporary" repair underwater and then draining the pool this fall for a permanent repair?

Pool is approx 10,000 gal, above ground, vinyl liner (unknown age, but >4 yrs old). I believe there is sand under the liner but I'm not totally sure. The water is well balanced and sparkling clear right now so I would like to avoid draining until fall if possible.

    Thanks!
