Default Nitelighter not fitting AG Emerald Isle pool?

Anyone try fitting this unit with the roman style top rails? The top rails on this pool are pretty bulky and I cannot figure out a way to make this fit.

    Suggestions welcome.

    Thanks

You are supposed to remove the top rail, hang it over the wall and reattach the top rail. If your top rail "pinches" the wall with a U shape, you will have to change your mounting method and adapt as necessary.
If your top rail is double walled - ie - cross section like this (roughly):

    /~~~~~~\
    |___||___|

and the two verticals in the middle are too close together to cap the light top, the I recommend you just screw the light upwards into the top rail from underneath just inside the pool wall.

Edit - I just looked at your pool - it's resin, so yes, it'll pinch the top of the wall, and the width of the nightlighter is too wide - so, one of three choices -
    1. do as I stated above and screw in from underneath.
    2. Return it and buy an aqualuminator light - my choice - better light anyways - and get the LED model while you're at it.
    3. Dremmel the area out of the resin top rail where the light should go.

Thanks. I have looked and relooked at the situation and will probably return it. I am a little worried about the install of the Aqualuminator. How difficult is it and would I need to drain below my return?

    Thanks

You will be removing your entire return, but anything is possible - if you can work fast and are able to see/picture it all coming together before hand, then you can do it wet - yes, you also will get wet!
However, if speed and accuracy isn't your forte, then hold off till fall or spring when you drain below the return and do it then - less pressure on you that way.
Highly recommend glueing a proper 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 fitting to the aqualuminator before installing and if you don't allready have it, a shutoff valve - the adapter to 1.5" will fit a little loose, however, a good roughing with sandpaper and good glue will make it last forever.

The way I tighten the inner flange on to the outer body is by using a length of 1/4" square bar - you'll see when you look at the part what I mean, if you don't own one and need to get one, temporarily remove any door handle in your house and there should be one in there.

Thanks Matt. I may end up draining below the return when it comes in. We are in the middle of so much rain that I have to drain the pool every other day as it is. Will not be a big deal there. Will I still need to glue a 1 - 1/2 fitting on if I am using a hose at this time?

By the way...I did order the CAL version of the light.

    Thanks
