    Who advised the algaecide? What kind was it? Also, has filter been running all this time? Let it run 24/7

    have always added algacide at start up and before closing for season....not sure of brand as I tossed bottle and its gone....pump was backwashed, used filter cleaner (sand filter) usually run filter 24/7 during start up.
