    Default dissolving cya

    Hello,

I added about 2-2 1/2 pounds of stabalizer to my 10000 gallon above ground pool on tuesday since my readings said i had no stabalizer. How long will it take to disolve and get an accurate reading? I have a sort of green tinge in the pool but it is clear. I am keeping the chlorine levels between 10-15. Ph is 7.4 alk is 120 and i run the filter 24/7.

    thanks

    Tara

Janet (AYLAD) says to wait a week or more before testing your CYA level again.

Or at least 4 days, you can start to see your levels at 4 days. I would not add a whole lump at one time, start with 1/3 or 1/2 of the recommended dose and check after 4 days. If its reaching close to your level, pull it out of there as it can often rise more in the next couple days even without the extra still in there. Easy to add more if you need it, hard to remove (drain and refill)
    Beats driving to the lake!
