Default Test results-help on dialing in

    Hi,I am going to post my water results in hopes that someone can help me get it from good to near perfect(at least for a day!)I have a 19000 gal 17x33 inground vynl with a Aqua Rite Gen..FC=1.2 , TC=1.2 , CC=0.0 , pH=8.0 , HARDNESS=220 , ALK=95 , CYA=50 , COPPER=.13 , IRON=.03 , SATURATION=.36 , SALT = 2850. Boy,salt gen. is the way to go! Thanks for any help in advance! Matt

Get your salt up (about 3200 ppm), get your Cyanuric Acid up (about 80 ppm) and bring your pH down (about 7.4)... everything else looks good.

But, in my opinion, I would increase FC/TC to about 3ppm. Less than 2 ppm is just not enough safety margin for more than a few people using the pool.

Thanks Sean,It is like talking to a celeberty when you reply. How many ponds of cyanuric acid should I add to bring me up to a acceptable level?should I broadcast it or use a sock bomb?I already added muratic acid to the pool, turned up the gen to 40%,and plan on getting salt in the next day or two.

That's the nicest compliment I've gotten in years! Thanks!

1 lb per 5,000 gallons increase cya 25 ppm. Since you're at 50 ppm, add 4 lbs of cyanuric acid and you'll be around 75 ppm. I put it in a bucket and predilute as much as I can, then broad cast it around the deep end. Then I steer my pool cleaner around the deep end. However, the last time I put 10 lbs into my leaf rake net, placed it in front of the return in the shallow end, lost haft of it right through the holes so now I had to steer my cleaner around the shallow end. It was picked up by the next day. Most was caught in my in line leaf trap, where it sat until it finished dissolving.

I think the sock (or panty hose) trick will be best!

Thanks Sean, sorry about my hack job on spelling. It has been a long ,hot day for me.Thanks for a labor free pool.It was this forum that persauded me to opt for the salt pool not the salesman.Best move I made yet besides teaching my 16 year old how to clean the pool!
