Iron keeps returning

I have been fighting my high mineral water for two weeks now. I had a leak so I had to add from the well and turned green within 1 hr of adding water.
So I added two qts of metal out for my 18x33 4' POOL. cleared up within a few hrs. Backwashed the DE filter and saw all the brown stuff going out the hose.
Clear all day yeterday, swam all day in it. Turned off the pump last night and covered with solar cover. Took off today and it's light green again. Backwashed the filter this morning and added new DE. IS there still metal out in the water or do I need to add more. seems like I can never get it out. Thanks for any suggestions Scott

Have you had the water tested for metals? Green is normally a sign of copper in the water, and copper is not commonly found in fill water.

What else are you putting in the water? Tri chlor? If so, there may be copper in that, but not enough I would think to make it turn green...Maybe its the end result of chlorine eating up some organics. That can sometimes give you a tinted water color until it clears up. Maybe post some chem levels - FC TC TA PH, etc

We have high iron content and any time we add our well water to top off, more sequesterant goes in, especially if we have to shock for any reason. Our first fill with the new pool last year left it looking like chocolate syrup after shocking. Lately, so much rain has gone in we don't even have to consider the hose - we are pumping out instead of adding.

It cleared up in 1 hr after I put in the metal out....No tri-chlor...just bleach...

If it keeps coming back you may just need to keep the cycle up each time water is added to top off or at shock levels its oxidizing so its not all taken care of. It took a LOT of sequesterant when we first filled and several cycles of filtering.

Well It was clear all day after the metal out was put in. If I run the pump all night it's fine in the morning. If I shut it off over night it was green tinted.
I think after it runs for a while it would have been fine. It was getting better even without the added metal out today, but with it it cleared within 1hr.
