Default My Ozonator light is out - can I change it myself?

Pool is about 2.5 years old. We had a slight algae bloom and we're in the middle of dealing with that, and it struck me from reading other articles that the ozonator might be on the fritz. The light is out, and I tried re-setting the test button on the electric plug, but nothing happened.

It's an UltraPure. Can I change the UV light myself? I am somewhat handy around the house but not too confident with electricity. Do pool stores usually have these parts or do I have to send for it? I have a pool service guy coming around next week to clean my filter once we get the algae on the run - so I could let him do it and charge me an arm and a leg, but if the parts are available and I can take care of it, I'd just as soon save a few dollars.

Also, now that I know the UV light hasn't been on, I'm pretty sure that played a part in our algae problem. Is there anything else I should do, other than getting the ozonator working? We've only had to shock once before, and that time, we'd had the same kinds of heavy rains.

I wasn't sure this was the right place for this question, but the title does mention ionizers, so...Thanks for any help.

Well, I'll put my own reply on here. I had my pool guy come out to clean my filters, and I asked him about the ozonator. He said he wouldn't bother fixing it if it were his, and he wouldn't put one on his own pool. Just another thing to go wrong, if it breaks you burn your pump out, and the light bulbs are ridiculously expensive.

So I will consider this and let you guys know what happens.

By the way, I've shut-off my ozonator and am operating on just my SWG. No problems so far!

Thanks for the feedback - the lights come on every once in a while but mostly the thing is not operating. My algae came back, but that was because we were out of town and didn't have anyone to supplement the cl for us. It keeps on raining! And there's algae in this rain. So I look to be battling this all summer. It sucks.
