Default Wife overfilled pool. How to drain?

    Hi All,
I have a Pentair FNS plus DE filter with a 2" high flow multiport valve. If I set the valve to "waste" to bring the level down will that totally bypass the filter? I don't want to recharge the filter again, I just did it 2 weeks ago. Thanks,
    Joe
