    Talking Yay! It's summer! Pool is up! But....

    Ok, so we (my daughter and I) have had the pool up for over 2 weeks and for the past three days, we have been enjoying it immensely! So much that yesterday, at the pool being 87.5 degrees F, my daughter didn't want to get out of the pool. Anyhow, apparently she made a "deposit" in her swim pants and well, I had *close your eyes now* pineapple floaties!

    So, there I was after scooping her out, scooping them (the offensive floaties) out (about less than 2 tablespoons worth) and vacuuming. I added the remaining chlorine (about 1/3 bottle of the bottle) and left the pump running all night. Today, here is my test results:

    Cl=5
    Ph=8.2
    Hardness=0
    Alk=0
    CYA=0

    Now, obviously...I (personally) don't feel safe jumping in the pool at this time but wondering what you all thought about this. I am having a hard time explaining to her why we need to stay out of the pool....

    Our pool, again, is the Intex 12' x 30" Round Easy Set-Up pool. I have the upgraded pump for the 15' x 42" pool.

    Thanks....Did I mention we LOVE our Easy to set up pool...that allows us the option to tear down and up for summer and not have to worry about "winterizing" it???

    If your FC held at 5ppm that long with 0ppm CYA and you ran the filter, you are okay to swim. Chlorine kills pretty fast. You do need to get your pH down.
