edit edit edit..didn't see you had an swg and how big your pool was. well, now i'm not surprised you need that much given you have a 30,000 gallon pool..that's a big pool compared to many is one thing..most i see talked about here are between 10 and 20,000 gallons..and you need higher cya running an swg versus not..i.e. swg probably 60 to 100ppm depending on the system. i believe the autopilot for example specs out 60-70 as recommended..i don't quite understand the why behind it but, they make no money off me buying cya so i'm sure there's a good reason. a non swg pool only requires 20-30 if at all. i do wonder if you had a solar cover by the time you spend that much money on cya that a) you get the benefit of a solar cover if you could use in your area. b) you get a cover that's largely funded by money saved on the amount of cya you need as you wouldn't be losing so much water due to evaporation and such.
just a thought and it makes some assumptions but, i'll throw it out there. would love to see pics of it.
