I find it in the paint section of most hardware stores-same place you find mineral spirits. Even my neighborhood True Value store carries it in gallon plastic bottles. Usually listed as muriatic acid-hydrochloric acid 32%

I found mine at Costco last year. 2 gals in a box but I don't remember the price. I get my bleach there too, 2 - 1.4 gals for 5 bucks.

How do you like the ColorQ? Is it worth picking one up? Accurate?

Be careful when buying acid. Home Depot near me has recently moved to 14% acid instead of 29% they use to have but did not change the price. This could be just a California thing.

My wife went to Home Depot today so I asked her to pick up some Muriatic Acid.... She got a little concerned when she saw "Caustic Substance" on the label and found out that it is a controlled substance and could only by one box. I had no idea it was a controlled substance... Why is it controlled?

Lowe's and Home Depot ran just under $10 for 2 1-gallon jugs of the 32% stuff.

Found out that my local farm-and-ranch store also carries it in the same concentration for about $2 for 1 gallon...a savings of over 50%! I found it in their plumbing section.

I believe that muriatic acid is used in Meth production which is why they sometime limit the amount you can get.
