Default AG pool water level uneven? Help needed ASAP.

Question regarding water level on new AG pool. When filling the pool (now at 18 inches) it appears that there is more water on one side of the pool (1.5") when measure with a tape measure from the bottom. When measured from the top rail down to water level it is not this way. I know it was leveled and releveled during install, but I am wondering how this will work. Does the level on the wall matter more than the level from the bottom of the pool? Do both matter? Could this be a misalignment of the liner?

    Thanks for your help.

    Mike

What is your base made from? Sand? If so, its possible your sand is not the same depth all the way around - ours is deeper on the E end of our pool because we put more of an extended cove out into the pool on the W end with the sand - but the walls/uprights/rail are all level. Some people dish out their pools on one side or another or in the center.

I believe that the important thing is that your walls/rails are level all the way so that there is equal support all the way around and something does not buckle.

Thanks mom. I am figuring that is what it is. Yes, we have sand on the bottom and a gorilla pad on that. Our installer is coming back this morning so I am sure he will look things over. Just that our part of the country is pretty small and the installers may not be as experienced.

Since you had a professional set up your pool, it's highly unlikely that the pool is uneven, most likely, the water just isn't level......or, maybe the uneven floor is making the water surface uneven.....

    Sorry, couldn't help myself

Then again, since water is always level, it's most likely the builder who's at fault,
The best way to tell is if you measure down from the top of the wall (or top rail) to the water surface - if the measurements don't match, take the biggest measurement, subtract the smallest measurement and the difference is the amount your pool is out of level, if it's more than 1" on a larger (24 foot) pool, I'd say it's unacceptable and prone to problems.
The floor of the pool can be uneven (but shouldn't be), dipped, or whatever, it will not affect the water on the surface.
If you have an overlap liner with a design on the top, it may appear to be uneven because of how the liner ended up sitting in the pool - most overlap liners have designs all over them or none at all to avoid this problem, however, there are some available that have a design along the top edge only.

If your liner is of the J hook or beaded type, the water line should be even on the design all around - if it's not, the wall level is at fault.

Move the hose to the otherside of the pool while filling

What I was referring to was whether it is the same depth from bottom/floor to top of water, which can vary when the pool is dished out, like yours Matt. It should always be the same from top rail to water level -

Well I guess I could have worded that better :-)....I was of course meaning the water height from the bottom of the pool and to the sides. We double checked everything and it does appear that the walls are level. Of course the measurement from the bottom could have been one spot in the sand as well. The liner does give that illusion of being off as it gets pulled a little. Either way...it looks like it will be within 1/4" when full. The installer did say they would correct anything that was off. Kind of at a stand still until tomorrow when my electrical gets completed.
The electrical turned out to be a good thing. I wanted to dedicated lines run from GFI breakers inside the house. One underground about 25' to the pump area and the other to another side of the house for general use. I was figuring around $1500 with the digging from everything I had read on here. Total bill...$450.

    Always nice to save $1050....

I was really just kidding, as long as your top rail is level, it really doesn't matter if your floor is out by a little bit, if it's out by 1/4", then your install went very well.
In my opinion, having them come to fix the floor would be pool suicide - likely something else (more noticeable) would occur, liner won't fit right, liner rips, liner skews, , or you need to wait on a new liner when it's said and done, etc, etc. I would live with it since it's so small it wouldn't be noticeable.
