    Default FC not holding overnight...

I went through the conversion and everything is crystal clear. I have my CYA at 35 and pH is 7.6. TA is ~180.

I put in almost 3 gallons of bleach last night and after an hour the reading was over 5. After 3 hours of daylight, I'm back to .5. Now, either I'm losing it a bunch overnight or 3hrs of sunlight is killing it off rather quickly. I'd hoped to get an earlier reading prior to full sun-up, but with CYA, I'd think I'd hold something.

Using a Taylor K-2005 test kit....

Maybe you are still metabolizing something.

Also, if you add polyquat, the FC will drop over 48 hours.

I haven't added any Polyquat, yet.

I'm going to search on dissipation rates, but is there any other std rate available?

You may need a little higher CYA to stabilize better. I had no reading on my CYA test, so I went an got a floating feeder w/ a few 3" pucks to get some into the mix. When it gets up to ~50, then I'll start the bleach. The pucks really are easier, they just need to make 'em w/o CYA!!
