Default Need help finding a cartridge replacement

Trying to help a friend find a cartridge replacement. It's a Hayward and C-138(0) is stamped into the black rubber end. It's about 30" long and 6-8" in diameter. He's had no luck locally. Anyone recognize it out there?? TIA

It sounds a lot like the filters I use, unfortunately, it's also a pretty common measurement if you look at poolcenter.com. What kind of pump/filter unit is it from? Model #?

I thought it might be a Unicel number since they mostly all start with a C but I could not find it listed. Is this a free standing cartridge filter or a skimmer filter unit? If you could post the model number and make of the filter itself it would be very useful. I have several different crossreferences at work and might be able to find what you need. Also post exact measurements of the length, diamter of the end cap, diameter of the inner hole, and whether there is a support tube inside or if the pleats are exposed on the inside.

Edit: if this is from the Hayward simmer with filter in it they have discontinued this but it might be available from one of the third party cart manufactuers like Unicel, WorldPool, or Pleatco.

OK, did a bit of research at work today. Hayward has a CX-1380RE cart that is used in the biggest Super Star Clear (C5500) and Swim Clear (C5520) filters. These units take 4 of them! The old number on the cart was C-1380. I found a Unicel replacement number of C-7480 and no Aladdin (Worldpool) replacement. I did not cross reference Pleatco. DrC pm'd me on troublefreepool.com because he cannot register here and told me that there are other cross references:
    "The Filbur #is FC-1297, AKA # is C-1380"
He gave me pretty much the same dimensions for the filter as I saw in the Unicel cross reference 7" diameter, 32 13/16" long 3" inner diameter both top and bottom, 176 pleat count, 137 sq ft.
(his were 32-7/8" length, 7" diameter, 3" top and Bottom Centers, 150 SqFt. )
    Hope this helps.

Thanks, Evan. I'm sure that will help him. I don't know anything about that filter system but it was the biggest cartridge I've seen. Thanks again for the help. Enjoy your summer!
