Is there a formula for how much acid to add to lower PH a certain level? For example, on a 22k gallon pool with a PH of 7.6 how much acid should I add to get it down around 7.0-7.2?

It will take just over a pint to lower it by about 0.2 in a pool this size. Don't try to make your adjustment all in one shot. Add a pint slowly in front of a return jet, being careful not to splash it on you or the liner and don't breathe the fumes. Wait several hours to let it circulate before retesting and redosing as needed.
