Default is adding baking soda ok if chlorine is high

Tested the water this evening. Ph is down a bit and the alk. is 110. My chlorine level is at a 3, the highest level on my drop kit, but not too much above "normal". I added 2 lb a baking soda today to get both the ph and alk. up. I hope this was the right move with the chlorine being up a bit. Any feedback?

Alk at 110 is already plenty high. No reason to raise it. 3ppm chlorine may be low, depending on your CYA level.
