Dennis,
Two things I noticed:
1) Those gaps betweent the pickets have got to be 5 to 5 1/2". Where I live, they enforce the BOCA code that says the max gap is 4". I used a 2x4 as a spacer so mine are 3 9/16".
2) The fence looks like it's 3' high. I made sure mine was 4' high, again to be on the safe side of code--it's a little ambigous for A/G pools but iron-clad for I/G...and they enforce gating restrictions rigorously. I had wanted the whole deck level to be pool deck but they forced me to fence between it and the pool because they said the sliding door from the house wasn't self-closing and self-latching.
I live in a tough town as far as enforcing code goes....
The pool fencing, being 4', meant that 4' pre-cut pickets were 6" to 8" too short
So I milled my own from cedar 2x4s...took most of the winter. But it was so much cheaper than buying 8' lengths and cutting them that it paid for a new table saw!![]()

It's a friend of mine that does the decks, I have just helped a couple of times. I do beleive the 2 x 2's are 6" on center. They are not designed to pass any kind of code so those are good points to mention.
