    lol, our pool is under the big farm yard light - no additional lighting needed, but man is it a Junebug attractor! Don't have any problems with other bugs getting in the pool but those 1000 or more Junebugs make a pilgramige to my pool each summer for about 2 weeks.
    Beats driving to the lake!

    The lower watt one is fine for our 18', but I don't think it would light up a larger one. And if you use the colored covers it dims it some.

    There's also the GlowBuoy which has gotten Good reviews. It floats and is rechargeable, but it lights up 24,000 gallon pool (18X36 In Ground).

    We have a Glowbuoy but I don't like it much. It tends to get in the way and my dtr conked her head on it the last time we used it. Resulting in big tears and the end of swimming that night.

    We now have a Nova which sounds similar to what you are considering only with 100 w bulb. I like the color lenses better than the clear and they are easy to change. Here is where we got ours.
