Im in the opening stage and have a question

my cya has dropped to 0. I have been shocking my pool for the last few days and backwashing and adding more de as well.

because my water was so dirty i am going through de fairly quickly.

Now should i add the cya now, or should i wait until I am not backwashing my de out every 24 hours?

i dont want to add the cya and then have to backwash it out. It was my understanding that I shouldnt backwash for at least 48 hours.

You are right. You don't want to add the cya until you are no longer backwashing the filter so often. Actually, it can take about a week for cya to dissolve, so we suggest not backwashing for that long.
