Default Why I Check My Pool Equipment Daily

this morning, i did my usual equipment check..about 10 minutes after my pump, heater and swg automatically came on with the timer..just happened to wake up then..and i have to go into work for 5 hours so good thing as i go in the shed, everything seems fine, then i notice water all over my heater intake and outlets and thought..what the heck..then i realize the water isn't coming form there..but from a pinhole on my tiger flex to the filter that's shooting across! it wasn't a trickle mind you, but a solid spray of water..interesting phenomenon and i wonder how long it would have taken to have a substantial amount of water on my shed floor if it had been left for 5 hours got out the kwik jb weld and hopefully ready to fire up things when i get home this aft

never a dull moment when you own a pool

Probably a good thing to do. I woke up one morning to find my water level below the skimmers and the pump staining as a polaris hose by the pump had burst.

A couple of things everyone should have on hand are an extra hose and an o-ring. Both of these things are things that if you need one, you need it RIGHT NOW and you don't really have time to have to go and buy one. By that time, you may have lost a substantial amount of water.

yeah, i'd like to have a box of spare fittings and some tigerflex kicking around..new hose won't do me any good unless i have new fittings and a good supply of jb weld of course

funny story..i ran out of a supply of jb weld in case it still leaked so i stopped and bought some at the hardware store. came home, fired up the pump..and the water starts out of another part of the same piece of hose..so i went to home depot and bought...6 spare connectors up and running again now!

Sounds like what you should be buying is a new piece of hose!
I keep a lot of everything around - you never know what my wife is going to run over with her riding lawnmower next! My dog quickly learned to stay out of her way.
