How long to run pool filter?

Hello- Everyone in my house that cleans the pool has gone camping and have left me with a question or should I say questions. I have a 16' X 32' above ground pool and I am trying to see how long I should run the pool filter each day. And when should I run it? I just noticed that it is not set on the auto timer. And do I sweep or vacuum each day? Thanks!!

Well, sometimes I run mine all day other times I run it only at night. When it gets really hot outside (95-105 degrees) I run my pump only at night, usually from 9pm to 9am. If they are only going to be gone for a lweek or so just it run. IMHO

I vacuum my pool when it looks like it needs it. If I see stuff floating or on the bottom I'll vacuum.

Most people typically run their pumps 10-12 hours per day. You just need to turn the water over at least once. Some people run it 24/7, but this is really overkill unless you are having water problems.
