Default Bermuda grass help needed asap?

Touched on the subject in another post, but I could use some solid advice.

I have a new AG install happening a week from Saturday (June 9, 2007). The area I am having it put in is covered in Bermuda grass which I know can kill a liner. I began spraying highly concentrated Round up last Friday and everything is turning yellow. Here are some questions.

    1) How often should I respray the concentrated round up?

    2) Should I pull up the Bermuda?

    3) Is there a tarp or some type of cover that goes under the pool to help prevent Bermuda from growing?

    Thanks for any help.

    Mike

There are a couple of things to think about. ( I had zoysia in the place my pool sits now)
    1) the installers will be digging down and scraping alot of that up. They can also go down 11-12 inches if you request it. That kills alot of the root system.
They dumped and smoothed the excess dirt/grass in low spots and it took over well.
    2) I also had them install what they call happy bottom. It is a very thick plastic taped at the seams. The liner sits on that. Zoysia should not get through THAT
    3) They also have what they call "pool crete" that can be poured prior to pool construction, but after prep work and leveling. This is a mixture of concrete and some other stuff. You might check into that. You are right, the roots of the tougher grasses might become a costly issue for you, so you should research and ask your pool installers/sales person to help you out.

    Good luck

I've been looking into getting something called Gorilla Pad, which might do the trick for you. It's a textile type of stuff that is supposed to keep anything from penetrating it. It's sold at nearly all the pool stores online. It comes presized to your pool, too, which I think is a big plus.

Thanks for the replies. I looked at the Gorilla Pad and it might just be what I need. Thanks for the tip.
