CarlD solar deck?

My sister in-law is having a AG installed in Maryland. Could you give me some info on your solar deck system. I was telling her about it, after seeing your photos and comments on Poolforum. They want to use there pool (lap pool) year round.

They only list the following sizes: 12x20, 12x24, 16x24, 16x32 or a 20x40.
but they can do any combo of length to width, it just costs extra to have a custom liner. I have a custom 16x40, with a 5.5' deep end, Add-a-Deck model. They used to list a lap pool that was 12x40. I'm sure they can do that still. I built mine into my deck--pics are in the Above-Ground gallery.

The actual company is called Island Pools in Grand Island, NY, between Buffalo and Niagra Falls. They also go by the online name of LeisureLiving.com.

They ran into trouble with their manufacturer of the decking (uses a process called "blow molding") and only recently got production of the deck panels going again. They warranty them for life, and have, over the years, sent me new panels gratis, without asking me to return the old ones. I consider replacing leaking panels to be maintenance. The ones nearest the return are the ones to leak first always.

Island Pools has been terrific with me on warranty items. We're now in our 5th season with the pool and love it. All the pleasures of a rectangular I/G, but the ease of access for repairs of an AG. Also, the structure, unlike most AGs, is NOT dependent on the water as a structural element. All the water does is keep the liner in place.

It's a far pricier pool than most AGs, but usually far cheaper than the equivalent IG--and you don't get the property tax increase of an IG.
