Using CYA in a cartridge filter system???

I'm converting from Bacquacil right now and had a question about CYA.

I have a cartridge filter system, a Fox WallPak, and there's no place for me to put the CYA granuals for them to dissolve. Some options I'm considering:

1. Saw many people mention a sock filled with CYA in the skimmer basket, is this preferred?

2. I could place the sock in the basket of the pump, would this be a problem?

3. I could remove the cartridge on the skimmer side and pour the granuals in and let them gather in the pump skimmer basket.

Any suggestions???

The sock in the skimmer or in front of the return works quite well. Squeeze the sock a couple of times during the day and it will dissolve much faster. I did this in a bucket and had it dissolved in a half a day.

I once tried the sock in the pump basket but it really didn't speed it up much.

If you dump the CYA in the skimmer, it will end up in the filter which is ok but I think it takes longer to dissolve that way.
