Default Pool Buster - Price Increase

I'm debating getting a Pool Buster Max. But I don't see the deals that some of you quote as being available even on ebay. From what I see the Max is $185 (best current price) and the CG is $305. Both prices include shipping.

Is there any reason to pay $125 more for the CG? They don't even throw in the sand and silt filter with CG anymore.

    Thanks

The ordinary one works great. Just get the finer filter as a $25 to $30 extra. I've been using the original for years.

eBay. But it doesn't seem to be that much of a savings over the manufacturer's direct online store.

I found a CG Max on eBay for $219. CarlD's right, get the fine filter bag no matter which unit you purchase, because the std bag lets a lot of the little stuff through. I'll be ordering my bag this week...

The CG max *COMES* with the fine filter bag. If it didn't, then you didn't get the full CG package, that might be why it is less on eBay.

In theory, the CG has the following advantages:
    - More power (supposedly 30% more)
    - Faster charging (1 hour vs. 4 hours)
    - Includes the fine filter bag.

The CG replacement motor box is 139 vs. 79 for the regular box, so it better do something better!!!

Every CG package I have looked at (ebay and other online dealers) does not come with the fine filter bag. I don't believe the CG packages offers that anymore.

I, too, have been looking for a "deal." Although I want the extra power the CG says it has, I don't think I'm willing to pay $100 more for it considering I'm going to have to shell out an extra $27-30 for a fine filter bag.

I keep looking, but I really want to get one ordered quickly. Those darn birds keep messing up the pool. I think a quick clean up with the Pool Buster Max will be so much easier that vacuuming with a hose hooked up to the skimmer.

You are probably right, the Watertech site doesn't list it in the CG package anymore. Pity. We use the fine bag more often than the other. The "trick" of putting cotton balls in the regular bag to pick up finer stuff does work, but its not as easy as the bag. They just charge way to much for the bags!!

Ever since they switched to the Max product-line, I think they kept out the fine bag. The CG Max Gold has it, but lists on Watertech for $349 or something like that. $219 for the CG Max and an additional $25 for the bag was OK by me...

I paid right about 240 for my CG Max with the fine filter bag last year, so it does sound like you are getting a good price (the MSRP was 299 at the time).
