    Default Starting the conversion tonight...

I plan on starting the Bacqua to BBB conversion tonight. I let the pool go at the end of last season so that I'd have less conversion headache and upon taking the cover off, I see lots of Algae. No surprise, I expected it.

The question is should I be adding Polyquat now along with bleach or should I just let the bleach and filters do everything for the time being?

Should I save the polyquat for when the conversion is finished.

pH is marginal at 7.2 and Alk is around 100. I like this Taylor test kit, glad I ordered it.

Save the polyquat. Just use bleach. Lots and lots of bleach.

If you have a sand filter, plan on changing the sand after it's all done.

I have cartridge filters and I've been spraying them down every 30 minutes and rotating a fresh set in.

Do I have to do the 3-part dilution to get an accurate reading for shock level with a Taylor kit?

Since it only goes to 5, I assume so...

Today is day 7 and I think I'm there.

I did lose quite a bit of chlorine during each day, but always kept it high overnight.

My cartridges are almost like new with all the bleach I've been subjecting them to and lack of biguanide.

I can see the bottom in the deep end and now see all the silt that I need to get up.

Now the next question for the chlorine section, how do you know what level of CYA is best?
