I'll agree that keeping the pool clean, and the chemicals in check are a breeze (especially since I found this site that gave me an education on what is what in regard to chemicals). But I have spent a considerable amount of time and money messing with my autocover, messing with my heater, replacing the liner, etc.... Granted, I have had bad luck getting a liner that was a factory defect from Fort Wayne (the warranty they have stinks), and having a pool company that didn't properly install my auto cover, and having problems with heaters that I shouldn't be having. In only 4 years of ownership, I have already filled the pool 3 times due to repairs. So if you ask me if it was worth the time and money, I would say no. But then again, seeing the kids enjoying the pool day after day in the 3 short months of swimming season does somehow make up for it. Pool ownership and work is more than just keeping the pool clean and the chemicals straight. Sooner or later, something will break or will need replacing. Just my 2 cents.
