I know we had looked at that as well. It is a different type of material and should work fine. I could not remember, what type of difference was there in the prices of Gorilla Pad vs. Happy Bottom?

As far as I know, the Gorilla Pad can be bought for ~$150 for a 24' round pool. Happy Bottom is more expensive and you have to cut it and tape it yourself. The Gorilla pad comes cut and seamed to size.
The main reason I'm looking at the Gorilla pad is to provide a barrier to ants. The guy who repaired the ant holes for us last fall said that any kind of foam bottom would be just as tasty as the vinyl, so it wouldn't ultimately provide any real protection from the ants.
Have you gone to their website and looks at the specs listed? Maybe call their reps to see what their take is on the Munchability factor for ants....when we were considering purshasing bottom, Gorilla was the one we thought we would get, but we passed all together.

Hi Mom, I have used the Gorilla pad. I had a little problem getting it smooth enough for my liking. I am sure with a little time that could be overcome. It sounds like it might be a good way to go. I would also recommend Green Lite ant killer under and around the pool at all times. This stuff is amazing and if you can keep the ants away from the pool there is not much chance they will get under it.
In my 35 plus years in this bus I have only seen ants do damage to a pool on a couple of occasions. It is so strange and so damaging. Once I saw ants eat holes in a liner. Once I saw them move large amounts of sand underneath a pool, huge sink holes.
Hope you get them under control, Dennis
