Default How to test for CC and TC

I'm learning a lot about water chemistry thanks to all of you but have a few general questions.

If my FC holds at 5 for three days with a CYA of about 30, does that mean I don't have any CC's? The water is clearing up nicely but my SWG still isn't working so I don't think any additional chlorine is going into the pool yet. Hope it's fixed today. My plan was to continue adding chlorine at shock levels for a couple days, but the FC is holding above 5 without adding any additional chlorine since Friday, so I haven't added any more since then.

My drop test kit won't measure CC's or TC, how should I do that?

I don't know what kit you have, but if it's an OTO, then it won't measure CC, it only measures TC. But I'd say that if you're holding Cl for 3 days without a drop, you can reasonably assume that you have 0 CC.
