    Sorry it took so long to respond. Started to a couple times and either got frustrated or distracted. Not with the post but trying to link something. I'd bet keeping the pump out of direct sun is the most important thing to keeping it cool. Trick on any box is to keep the motor from sucking its own hot outlet air back into the intake. A lot of pump noise is enhanced by conduction both through the base mount and pipes. I have my pump mounted on a piece of 3/4 ply that sits on another piece of ply separated with rubber bottle stoppers available at Home Depot. They act as vibration insulators. Pipes are also isolated with sections of auto radiator hose. Between the hose and the mount the pump is pretty well isolated and the noise is greatly reduced. I attached pics of the base and the overall pump. May give you some ideas.
