    Only thing I can think of is using a long bar to push the wrench jaw against the raised square on the plug so it will grab as you turn.

    I find when I use a basin wrench to loosen a tight nut on a faucet that I often have to squeeze it as I turn. The spring doesn't always apply enough pressure for a good grip.

    The grip seems very strong. In fact it is strong enough that I am able to turn the socket on the end of the wrench without loosing grip on the plug. Pool guys is coming back with a "T" wrench today so lets see if that works.
