    Default Cleaning DE Filter grids

Took apart DE grids to clean because it did not make sense to me to place the entire unit in the acidic cleaning solution. It has a metal rod holding the filter grids to a plastic top & bottom.

Question. Is there a specific place for each of the DE filter grids? I got it back together and it seems to be filtering but figured it is worth asking the question.

    thanks

Don, yes! there is one 'short' grid that has to be under the outflow pipe. The other 7 can be put in whichever way they fit, it can be a bit of a PITA to get the top back on the grids if everything isn't 'just right'.

Sounds like you put it back together correctly (no DE blowing back into the pool)

I'm assuming the short grid was the straight one, it was the only one that would fit in the middle. The pool was cloudy upon open but seems to be clearing up after 2 good vacum's. Thanks for confirming the other 7 go where ever they fit. I'll keep an eye on the filtration.

What type of solution do you use? I've always pulled mine out and simply hosed them off to clean. I've never heard of dipping them in a solution.

Looks like I'll learn something new today
