My pool was built with the nature 2. It was supposed to run for two weeks before activating it. I found this site and decided not to. I have have just let the water pass thru w/o any probs.
Our pool has a Nature 2 unit installed, which I've been wanting to remove for a while now. After looking at old threads, I'm still uncertain how to do so.
Let me describe the setup:
The white PVC pipe is connected to a grey "vessel" - tube goes in one side at the bottom and comes out the other. The grey vessel has a circular crank, which I opened. Inside the grey vessel is the Nature 2 cartridge. When the cartridge is lifted out, you can see a hole in the bottom of the open grey vessel, with water. When I removed the cartridge, I could hear water draining from somewhere (my DE filter?). Also, the grey vessel thing closes with a gasket.
Can I just take the entire cartridge out, and run my system that way? Can I open the cartridge itself, remove the mineral filter, put the cartridge back in the grey vessel, and run the system? I am NOT that mechnically inclined, and my poor husband is so busy at work that I don't even want to burden him with this project if it involves cutting PVC pipe, etc.
This is important to me because we've had a gradual buildup of light brown staining in certain areas of the pool, and I'm starting to suspect that Nature 2 is the culprit.
Thank you for any help in advance!

Search the forums for Nature2. You will find that the majority of responses suggest taking the cartridge out and leaving everything else in place.
I saw those posts - I guess I was unsure if my system was installed in a similar manner as the others, as there are a few different ways to do so. I did call the company that makes Nature 2 this morning, and confirmed that I can do this with my model/installation (which is probably what I should have done first).
Thanks to all who replied!
