That's a great price. I always use wal-mart ultra bleach, and it's $1.28 around here too.

Check the prices of the 12.5% stuff at the pool store. Sometimes that's the best buy. One in my area (ok the one I work at!) sell the 2.5 gallon carboy for $3.99 for a refill. (There is a one time $5.99 charge for the carboy and then you just bring the empty back and pick up a new one.) That's the equvalent of slightly more than 5 gallons of ultra bleach for $4! Dosing is easier also. 1 oz raises 1000 gallons 1 ppm FC so if you have a 16,000 gallon pool each 16 oz. (1 pint) will raise it 1 ppm or if you have a 22,000 gallon pool each 22 oz will raise it 1 ppm, etc.

I buy my liquid chlorine in >12% form and get 5 gallons for $9.00. But I have to drive a little bit to get it.
Although I couldn't pass up the deal one of the grocery stores had it for $.79 a gallon of 5.25% solution. I bought all the bottles they hadCome to think of it...I should check back and see if they have any more

I have been to 4 different stores in this area (national and local) and none carry liquid. Sylvan folks told me there was not enough demand and Leslie's manager said it was too dangerous! You don't want to know what they said when I told them I use bleach. As an aside, I find the staff at these stores are not very knowledgeable.
yeah none of the 4 places in my area carry it either. there might be one on the coast but that's a 3 hour round trip
