Dry-rotting vinyl liner

I have a 24' AG and the liner is dry-rotting above the water line where the morning sun bakes it. I have been patching to keep up with it for two seasons. As you can see in the pictures, it's getting ahead of me. I'm going to try to get som scrap vinyl from the pool store to lay around the whole 10' stretch.
Here's my question: Vinyl repair adhesive does not hold. The best thing I've found is Marine Outdoor Goop, which comes in a squeeze tube. Is there anything I can get in larger quantities than having to buy 25 tubes of Goop? What about fiberglass repair resin? I would appreciate any ideas. I need to get on it fast before this split runs any further.

That's last year's duct tape. I will pull it off before applying the new patches

Boxer Glue. That's the stuff. Comes in all sizes, works above or under water.

But why don't you just replace the liner? You'll get 10-15 more years out of your pool. It's a do-able do-it-yourself project for a round AG. If it's an overlap liner it should be even easier.

Just curious as to how old your liner is?

I think it's about 5 years, I intend to look up the paperwork tonight.
I bought some vinyl repair kits today. I need to figure out how to get the duct tape residue off without making things worse. I think any cleaner other than soap will destroy what's left of the liner.
I'll check out Boxer Glue.

Gasoline will cut the duct tape goop without hurting what is left of that yucky liner. After that wipe down with isopropyl alcohol to remove any hydrocarbon residue left from the gas.
