I will answer my own question for the rest of you. My local independent pool fix it man came by to check out my pump today. He popped off a disc shaped cover in the center of the back of the Polaris booster pump. He took a wrench and loosened the big silver looking screw. He then put some aqua lube on it and that was all that was needed. The Polaris is working better than ever. He says that sometimes over the winter the pump (propeller inside maybe?) just freezes up. Wow, I just saved $525!
