I came home last night after work to a disturbing sight in my backyard. It seems the heavy rain here in upstate NY undermined part of my 24' AG. The water level (which was about 12" below max for the winter) was down 15-20", and the winter cover was stretched, with the floats still intact. A lot of sand had washed out from under about 1/4 of the pool's circumference, probably the equivalent of (3-4) 50# bags worth. Reaching under the winter cover, I can feel the liner detatched in the center of the portion of the pool where the sand washed out, about 8-10 inched below the top rim of the pool. I have been very good about keeping excess water (and lately snow) off the top of the cover. I *think* the excess rain lately simply built up under the pool and washed out a portion of the sand base, this was followed by the sagging of the liner at that spot, and a lot of pool water got out between the liner and the walls and washed out even more of the sand base. I might be mistaken about this, as I have little experience with this type of prob. I can't tell if the liner is ripped until I get the cover off to examine it, prob. this w/e.
Any advice on how to proceed?
thx
