Hi all,
I just thought I'd share my experience with two types of above ground pool fences.
When I first bought my pool, the pool store only carried one type of pool fence. The universal pool fence here.. It went up fairly easy...but the fencing does crack quite easily. Once the entire fence was up I was left with a fence that looked Ok...but was extremely flimsy. A person could certainly NOT even think about leaning on the fence even for a moment...nor could this fence keep anyone from entering the pool. It wouldn't even be a deterrent. This fence cost me a good amount of money (with gate). The only purpose it served was to bring me up to code with my city ordinance.
Earlier this year one of our pool stores started carrying Aqua-Leader pool fencing made specific for the certain pools they make. We have an all resin Illusion so we got the kit for that pool. The build quality and construction is outstanding. It is made of the same resin (make and color) as the pools posts. The fencing is a combined effort of that same resin and aluminum channel for added stability. I tell you...this thing is rock solid. It actually performs as if it was part of the pools upright supports. The look is also fantastic...because it was made specifically for our pool...it looks just like you would think, great. The design also deserves similar applause. I'm not sure if you would really appreciate how good of a design the Aqua-Leader fencing is unless you first purchased on of the universal kits. It's really a top notch design. The only problem I've had is finding information about the fencing on the internet. It's nowhere to be found![]()
All in all...if you've got the choice...check into your fencing choices. Even if one is a little more money...it could still be a better choice. I learned my lesson.
happy swimmin'.
