I live outside Fort Worth (Crowley) and my water hit 78 degrees yesterday so I took a dip and enjoyed it. It was cold for about 5 seconds then I was used to it. I had to get out quickly though as big storms came through again. Got out just before the hail hit. Luckily the hail only got about quarter size. A couple miles west got baseball size. Temps are quite a bit cooler today and will be for several days so swimming in the next week will probably not be in the forecast. Bummer. I won't complain though, we had been pretty dry for a few years so the last several months of rain has been awesome for the lakes and my yard.

Kids have been swimming for about 2 weeks. Water hit 85 yesterday with 60% coverage of Solar Sun Rings and 4 - 2x20 ft solar panels. Solar setup is still low tech, but it helps. I guess being in AZ is cheating

Swam April 2nd and 3rd in water between 66 and 68 degrees. It was not bad at all! I did not even use my wet suit.

Oh yeah. We're swimming. Sure. Right. Wanna buy a bridge?

The last 4 nights it's gone down into the 20's.

Sleet, freezing rain, and the possibility of several inches of the white stuff tonight in Northeast PA. Bah !!
Just added some bleach and dissolved cal hypo to the pool. Slight tinge of algae forming. Water temp 45F. So much for the BS that algae doesn't grow under 50.

Mine was up to about 80 last week. After the latest cold front, with night time temperatures as low as the high 30s, it was down to 66. Damn this global warming.

    Hey y'all:

We had been up consistently in the 80's, even a few day's in the 90's; but over night temps still going in to the 40's. Added bleach & turned on filter for several hours as water temp up to 62. Actually considered opening. However, we had a extended cold spell over the Easter weekend, so water temps are WAY TOO low now to even considered opening. This is the time of year when I also start debating adding a heater, but so far we have not. Oh well, maybe next year.

Hi everybody, can't wait to open the old pool up! Opening day for me is May 11. Just want to say hello to everyone - hope your winter wasn't too bad. I'm so glad to be back on the pool forum ready for another swim season!
