    Default Manual questions with Polaris

It seems I would be better off using a manual cleaner sometimes, especially at spring start up so I can have it go to waste. I have never used and have no idea how to use a manual brush. So here are some questions?

    1. Do other people use a manual cleaner even though they have an automatic?

    2. How does it hook up to your pool? (I'm assuming the skimmer)

    3. I'm looking at the cleaner that Ben sells. Assuming this hooks to the skimmer, are there any other parts I need? I don't see a hose or anything in the picture, what about the handle/pole? I have a extention pole for a debree/brush...is that the same pole I need?

    4. Any special connections needed to the skimmer?

It probably seems odd I don't know anything about a manual cleaner, but one did not come with my pool???

    thanks!

    1. Yes I do all the time

    2. Yes it hooks up to your skimmer, if you can, divert all of the pool suction to the skimmer with the manual cleaner in it.

    3. I assume Ben just sells the cleaner head, you will need a pole (the one you use with your leaf net will work) and a hose with the skimmer fitting.

    4. there is a fitting that goes on the skimmer to create a airtight/watertight seal.

I manual vaccume all of the time. I can do in 15 minutes what it takes my polaris 380 3 or 4 hours to do.

(For the most part my Polaris is just a $1000 squirt gun my children play with)

IMHO an automatic pool cleaner is worth it's weight in gold, especially if you have a pool of any size. Even if it only takes 15 min. to vaccum, the beauty of an automatic cleaner is that you can program to run at a specific time of the day or night (if your pool has that capability of programing). I program mine to run early in the a.m. each day for 2-1/2 hours and wake up to a spotless pool each day.

I have a Polaris ATV and it has been in my pool for about a year.

In that year, I have never manually vacuumed my pool. It's great.

I have from time to time brushed the sides and stairs before and after big parties but that's it.
