Default My pump question / Normal?

I had to add some stabilizer in my skimmer. I then went into my waste basket in the pump motor. I notice that it is in there (the stabilizer) and some leafs. But all I saw cycling in that basket was air. Looked like the leafs were dry. I swear I though I used to see it cycle water in there. Is there something wrong? Just making sure, so figure I ask 

    Thanks!

I'm sort of a newbie too, but I believe if the pump pot has no water in it, your pump is not pumping. Check the seal on the pump pot lid to make sure air is not getting in there. Sometimes my pump doesn't prime correctly after I've opened the pump pot, and I have to fill it with water and quickly put the lid back on, and start the pump, to get it to prime. It's possible you may have a leak somewhere that is allowing air to get into the lines. What's the pressure gauge on your filter say?

Of course, the pros here may be of more help, but that's my 2 cents worth.
