Re: AquaTrol?
Hey Tattoomom,
Is yours the type that hangs in the pool, or is plumbed into the return lines from the filter?
Do you have a good drop based test kit so you can check your own numbers and post them here? That will help you immensley, mostly for keeping your water clear and also to provide numbers here that people can use to help you. You'll need a kit that test for pH, Cl, TA, CH, and CYA. You'll also need a kit to test your salt level. I use a Taylor kit, and you can order those off the web or from a pool store like Leslies. They cost $50-$100, but are well worth it in time and money saved. Don't trust the test strips, they are neither accurate nor repeatable.
If your water is not "balanced", then no matter what unit you buy, eventually you'll have issues with either build up or corrosion. I'd hate to see you spend more money on something else to be equally frustrated. From reading your other posts, it looks like this has been an issue since last summer.
In the meantime, keep using regular bleach to maintain your FC level so your pool stays clear.
With some more info, I'm sure we'll be able to help you out!
