Default Polaris PB-4 vs Halcyon Pump

Does anyone have experience with the Halcyon vs. the PB-4 pump. The Halcyon is advertised as 28% quieter. My installed PB-4 is making a lot of racket even after replacing the seal which was leaking. So, I'm wondering if the Halcyon will make a significant difference.

I have installed several of the Halcyon pumps. They are quieter by a good deal.

    thepoolman1,

thanks for your response on this! By chance, have you installed any Hayward booster pumps? If so, how do they compare to the Polaris Halcyon? I'm presuming the Hayward pump could be used on a Polaris 280.

The Hayward pump is good, also. Any brand 3/4 hp booster pump can be used with any other brand cleaner that requires the booster pump.

The Hayward pump should cost less than the Polaris PB4 and considerably less than the Halcyon.
