    Default Jandy heator error

I have a less than a year old Jandy LX400 NG heater, I went to fire up the spa tonight and of course 20 min. later the water is still cold, on the control panel the "service" led and the "high limit" led are lit. I cleaned all 4 cartridge filters this past weekend, so I have flow (guage indicates this as well), the wiring diagram shows a high limit reset, but as far as I can tell this is inside of the heat exhanger (if there is even one there), any ideas short of dissassembly? I have a call in to the builder and the warrany company (aqua medic), but if it is anything like when my salt cell went bad (twice) it could be a while before anyone comes out to repair it. If possible, I would like to fix it myself.

    Thanks!

Try turning your heater on with no carts in the filter. That will rule it out.

    Greg,

I had a similar problem (see this thread: http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthread.php?t=6295 )

I ended up having the Jandy tech replace the high limit switches under the two-year warranty.

Mine failed last week for the third time. This time they replaced the entire head assembly that contains the Hi-limit switches. The explanation was that sometimes the head assembly develops small leaks that cause the switches to fail.
Sounds more like a design flaw to me, which could continue to cause problems after the warranty expires.
